Your privacy

Privacy and cookies

The public archive does not require an account. Optional Google Analytics stays off until you actively accept it.

Who is responsible

Shetland Results is the data controller for this archive. You can reach the site operator through the contact form. Hosting, security and analytics providers process limited data only to provide those services.

Optional analytics

If you accept, the site loads Google Analytics and sends page-view information such as the page visited, browser and device details, and an approximate location derived by Google. Advertising storage and ad personalisation remain disabled. Search terms and URL query strings are not sent as page locations.

Your choice is saved in your browser so the site can remember it. Rejecting analytics does not load Google's tag. You can change your choice at any time; rejecting after accepting also removes analytics cookies that this site can access.

Cookies and browser storage

  • shetland-results-analytics-consent-v1 is saved in local browser storage to remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics. It stays on that browser until you clear site data or change your choice.
  • If you accept, Google Analytics may set _ga and a property-specific _ga_* first-party cookie. Google documents a default lifetime of up to two years, subject to browser limits and the Analytics property's configured retention settings.

Analytics is processed on the basis of your consent. Google acts as an analytics service provider and may process data outside the UK under its applicable transfer safeguards. See Google's Analytics privacy and data safeguards.

Contact requests

Details sent through the contact form are used only to review that request, correction, contribution or privacy enquiry. They are private and are not included in archive downloads. Open requests are automatically deleted no later than 12 months after submission. Resolved or closed requests are deleted after 90 days unless a longer period is required by law. A separate versioned archive correction records the factual change without retaining the contact message.

Contact requests are processed because the archive has a legitimate interest in receiving corrections, contributions and enquiries. Requests concerning legal privacy rights are also processed to meet applicable legal obligations. The acknowledgement checkbox confirms you have read this notice; it is not consent to marketing or unrelated use.

Cloudflare Turnstile checks whether a submission appears human and receives technical request data needed to perform that check. The site does not use the contact form to subscribe you to notifications or marketing.

Competition records

The archive preserves factual results with source and confidence metadata. If you need a correction, an attribution reviewed, or a public profile anonymised, use the contact and corrections form.

Your choices and rights

You can ask what personal information is held about you, request a correction or deletion where applicable, object to processing, or withdraw analytics consent at any time. Use the contact and corrections form to reach the site operator. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you believe your data has been handled unlawfully.
